Salerno Gallery Exhibition
After our successful dual exhibition last year at Blank Space Gallery, my friend Robbi and I have decided to have another one together, this time at the Salerno Gallery on Glebe Point road.
Robbi and I originally met while working together in a Sydney textile design studio a few years back. She is currently working as an art therapist and a visual artist.
Her work is truly beautiful, unique and meaningful; Here’s an extract from her statement:
‘Through the use of mixed media collage and watercolour Robbi’s artwork depicts the constant struggle for our native wildlife to exist within our urban environment. In order to survive in this often cruel environment Man needs to control it and the wellbeing of those adversely affected by these changes are barely considered. The fluid, unpredictable and uncontrollable nature of watercolour used in her artworks also demonstrates this concept.
However this series also depicts a flickering sense of hope that we as a species do try and sometimes exist in harmony with our natural environment and the other species of the earth.’
We would be delighted to have you come for the opening night, or pay us a visit during the exhibition as we will be minding the space ourself.
